About Maggie Scruggs:

Maggie has an evergreen passion for movement that is felt in every class. She has a diverse background in training, starting in college with Baptiste Power Yoga Institute. She’s added dimension to her teaching with nervous system informed trainings with Soul Yoga Therapy and most recently layering in functional movement systems and Functional Medicine. She draws influence from dance, playing with artistic expression while balancing a commitment to tapas (or inner discipline.) Maggie draws inspiration for classes from music, Chinese Medicine Theory, Ayurveda, and yoga philosophy. She encourages community building through partner sharing and hanging out after class.

She *always* encourages students to take care of themselves however they need to on and off the mat. We all have seasons of ups and downs and our mats are a place we can bring our joy, our longing, and everything in between.

  • "This training goes above and beyond what I expected. It covers so many crucial areas in depth, has inspired me to expand my own learning and has introduced new and exciting things to me! I feel like I have a great foundation and context in a lot of aspects of yoga and am excited to dive further into the history and philosophy, as well as into ayurveda and teaching! This is a seriously life changing training. I feel that it will make me be a better version of myself!"

  • "I think the YP team has done a lot to accommodate the various needs of people and have made this a very accessible experience. The time and pacing of this program feels really manageable and I love that it has been flexible to fit a variety of schedules. When I had to miss a week, they worked with me to help me get caught up quickly. The teachers also really seem to value diversity and equity and have created an inclusive environment. The YP community is truly unlike any other. "
