I was introduced to yoga at nine years old and have held a relationship with the practice ever since. Yoga was a soft landing pad from my competitive gymnastics days. Immediately after gradating from high school, I spent a year in Asia bouncing around between yoga schools and meditation centers. I returned back to the states to study Sanskrit at Naropa. I love the way my relationship to yoga has continued to evolve as I continue to unravel more and more of myself.
These days my practice is rooted in Vipassana meditation. I utilize yoga asanas to help maintain supple hips and a strong spine to support my daily seated meditation. I bring this philosophy into my teaching style by encouraging students to first listen to their own body, and make each practice what you need it to be. My main goal is to give you a space to find enough comfort in the body so that you can begin the next step, which is to tame the mind.
When I’m not at the studio, I’m likely running my business Postpartum Pampering, tending to the garden, backpacking, or whipping something up in the kitchen.
I love getting to know my students on a more personal level, so always feel free to chat with me about anything mentioned here in my bio!
