In early 2008, I was deciding if I wanted to go to massage school or a 200-hour yoga teacher training. I chose the yoga teacher training, ultimately because at the time I had more experience with yoga and also because it cost less, but the idea of massage school was always something I dreamed about. In 2017, timing, combined with my deep love for studying anatomy and my longtime desire to nurture and help others heal finally led me to East West College of the Healing Arts, where I studied Swedish, deep tissue, Thai massage and myofascial release with some of the best and most passionate teachers. In the spring of 2018, I earned my 800-hour certificate and became a licensed massage therapist. Immediately after graduating, I spent three months working as the in-house yoga teacher and LMT at Minam River Lodge in Eastern Oregon before settling back in to my home at Yoga Pearl.
My ten years of yoga teaching experience plus a personal yoga practice that spans more than half of my life have truly informed the way I look at and work with bodies. On the table, I use a mix of techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, Thai and myofascial work to create a fluid, holistic and integrated massage experience.
