Tuan Anh took her first yoga class in high school, at a boarding school in Connecticut called Choate Rosemary Hall. Her English teacher, Debbie, practiced yoga at Kripalu and thought yoga would be the perfect fit for Tuan Anh’s calm nature and interest in swimming and running. It turned out to be more than perfect: yoga became a way for her to nourish her spirit and connect deeply with the joyful, creative energy of the universe.
For over 25 years, Tuan Anh has come back again and again to her mat and her breath to release resistance and find natural ease. She received her 200-hour yoga teacher training from the Nityananda Institute in Portland in 2004. Her classes focus on alignment, a deep connection between breath and movement, and interesting sequences to surprise and delight the body. She has a scholarly bent to her, as she holds a B.A. in the Classics (Latin and Ancient Greek) from Williams College, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Pacific University.
Tuan Anh is also Yoga Pearl’s resident energy healer. She brings her unique perspective on the human energy field to her classes and incorporates her energetic knowledge into the poses. She absolutely loves to help people come home to themselves by healing their energy fields. To learn more about her energy healing practice, visit www.fenestraenergyhealing.com.
In 2005, Tuan Anh was a prenatal yoga model in the award-winning DVD, Prenatal Yoga: A Complete Home Practice for a Healthy Mother and Baby.
