Tami found yoga in 2001 as a means to move her body after a serious injury left her unable to dance. In 2008, she completed a 200 hour teacher training in her home state of Virginia and immediately began teaching.
Her teaching has evolved over the years from powerful and sweaty to simple and subtle, yet challenging and meaningful. As a ballet dancer for 10 years, her teaching is informed by her understanding of anatomy and her desire to help the body function more efficiently. She is passionate about teaching anatomy in a way that is accessible, giving her students the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of and connection to their own bodies. Her classes are infused with breath work, great music, dynamic sequencing, her love for the practice, and her genuine compassion for others. Her intention as a teacher is simple- that you leave class feeling better than when you started, whether that be physically, emotionally, mentally or any combination of the three.
