Krystyn is a certified yoga instructor, an active volunteer with Street Yoga, as well as part-time cowgirl, hiker, camper, music maker, lover of outdoor activities including but not limited to: fireside shenanigans, pancake dinners and outdoor showering. She adores Elliott the cat, urban gardening, waffles, Scrabble, and tropical islands. Krystyn’s appetite for yoga and adventure is infectious.
Krystyn’s path to yoga was not unlike many others’. She began practicing in 2002 as a way to get in better shape. At first the practice was strictly physical. She didn’t get the whole chanting thing and had a strong aversion to the “new agey” side of yoga. The physical motions of her practice came to be second nature and then, one day, with nothing for her mind to really focus on she had an “a-ha moment”. With her muscles engaged and her body lengthened, she got it. If she used her mind and body together with her breath she could actually make things feel different in her body. The competitiveness she had with herself gave way to an abundance of laughter, acceptance and ultimately an understanding that what she could make of that moment was all she needed. A few years, and some major life-epiphanies later, Krystyn became a certified yoga teacher with Tiffany Cruikshank and Yoga Pearl.
Her intent is to provide a safe and fun environment for people to cultivate awareness, physical strength and an overall sense of well-being in all they do. She believes that everyone comes to their own understanding of what yoga is to them and that this understanding is forever changing. It is her hope that through your experiences you will learn a little bit more about yourself, laugh a little bit louder and love a little bit deeper.
