Jessica Baker

Jessica is a born and bred Oregonian (although there were a couple years spent in the desert of Arizona). She has been practicing yoga for over ten years, and teaching for five. She now has her 200-hour yoga teacher training through the Yoga Alliance, and continues her pursuit today, aspiring to reach 500 hours. Jessica incorporates a combination of athleticism and playfulness in her classes, while providing a continuous and congruent flow.

She has been a dancer from the moment she took her first steps, which she continues to pursue to this day as a professional company member of A-WOL dance collective (aerial without limits). As the name of the company insinuates, A-WOL is an aerial dance company which incorporates dance from the floor into the rafters; flying on hoops, fabric, trapeze, slings, hammocks, and teardrops. Jessica has been with A-WOL since 2003, and continues her journey still as a company performing member and teacher.

Today, Jessica teaches throughout the Portland Metropolitan area. She has found a true calling in teaching power vinyasa, as well as a combination of the two primary passions of her life: aerial dance and yoga. Jessica’s newest pursuit is aerial yoga combining the breath and postures associated with yoga while being suspended from the air.
