Yoga Pearl yoga instructors Portland, Oregon photos © 2013 Ben MoonI stumbled upon yoga as a means to extend an athletic lifestyle, but found a spiritual and awakening practice that has created a more balanced, patient and humble person. I believe that Power Vinyasa can bridge the body and mind by offering a strong practice that feeds the need for a workout but leaves a student with deeper connection to themselves.

I did my initial teacher training with Baron Baptiste in 2004, and continue to deepen my practice and knowledge from various styles of yoga and exercise therapy.  Since I’m also a chiropractor, my teaching style is based on a strong technical foundation focused on alignment and physiology mixed with a heavy dose of fun, humility and lightness. My classes cater to both inexperienced and experienced students with many options and approaches to an asana. They are challenging, but have a light, spiritual approach that leaves students with the possibility of taking their practice beyond the physical.

Because of yoga, I have learned to breathe, to slow down, to not strive for perfection, to stand taller, to be stronger, to fall down, and to connect.  I strive to always be real, to be accessible and honest, and to impart a little bit of wisdom.  I am fortunate to have been teaching at Yoga Pearl for over 10 years.  I love this community and look forward to having you in my class.
