Jen Burk
Jen has been practicing yoga in some form or another all her life. From a very early age, she remembers being innately attracted to yoga, in both its physical and more contemplative forms, and counts both Lilias Folan and her own grandmother as a few of the earliest influences and inspirations to her practice. In the early 90s, Jen began practicing yoga more formally and has been practicing and falling more deeply in love with yoga ever since. While living in San Francisco for over eight years, Jen had an opportunity to train and study with many influential teachers and attributes much of her growth, both personally and professionally, to the time she spent there. In addition to her asana practice, Jen also began a mindfulness meditation practice while in California and has been greatly influenced by her studies at Spirit Rock Meditation Center with her teacher Jack Kornfield. Most recently, aside from the dharma, Jen sites her relationship with her husband Jonathan, their travels to India, and the birth of their son Henry and motherhood as other major influences in her life and teaching. Jen wholeheartedly believes in the power of yoga to heal and transform and lovingly encourages her students to find compassion, grace and ease at their edge. Jen is deeply grateful for the practice and sees teaching as a wonderful way to serve and to help ease suffering in the world. For more information about Jen, please visit jenburk.com |
