Meditation & Chanting with Uma Kleppinger

Join Uma in a creative exploration of sound as meditation. We’ll learn some of the most popular mantras (chants) in the yoga tradition, as well as the use of mantra for specific uses (obstacle removing, health, harmonizing relationships, etc). Whether you enjoy chanting or dread even the tiniest “om” learn to free yourself from inhibition and relax into the power of sound.

In yoga the chakras are wheels of energy that govern our physical and subtle bodies, symbolizing the intersection of prana (life force energy) and consciousness in each one of us. Through experiential practices and discussion, we’ll explore each of the 7 primary chakras, their meanings, locations and associated spheres of influence.

Jump Throughs and Inversions with Tiffany Viehmann

Join us for an inversions and transitions workshop—two of the most basic yet demanding aspects of asana practice. We’ll break down the alignment of basic inversions and look at the progressions from beginning to advanced variations. We will also break down jumping through to seated and rolling back through Chakrasana as well the preparatory work to move toward this.

The Psychology of Yoga taught by Uma Kleppinger
Sat, Nov 22, 2–4pm, $40

Yoga is one of the most ancient prescriptions for mental and emotional health. This workshop examines differences between Western and Eastern psychology and explores the tools for self-knowledge and mental health that yoga provides through somatic awareness, meditation, breathing and self-inquiry. No yoga experience required, and open to all.
