Acupuncture is a healing therapy that has been practiced for centuries using fine, disposable needles at selected points of the body. Each individual has their own life force, or Qi (pronounced “chee”), that circulates throughout their body by way of energetic meridians, or channels. Acupuncture effectively treats numerous health concerns at the energetic level. This means benefits can be seen on the physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual levels. Common benefits from acupuncture are relief from pain, reduction of stress, and increased physical and mental energy, to name a few. Click here see “Conditions Commonly Treated with Acupuncture” for more info. By accessing the energetic meridians at acupoints, the needles help bring balance to the flow of Qi throughout the body. This balance, over a period of time, helps to restore the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Chinese Herbal Remedies
Herbs, the original form of medicine, are now being rediscovered for their invaluable benefits. The sophisticated science of Chinese Herbology has proven itself over thousands of years for a multitude of health conditions. Traditionally, Chinese Medicine has utilized acupuncture together with herbs for a more complete system of medicine as these modalities are known to mutually benefit each other. The focus of herbs is to support the body’s self-healing ability. Herbs nourish us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. For your convenience, we have available many traditional Chinese herbal formulas in our herbal pharmacy. We carry both teapill and tincture versions of patented formulas from Kan Herbal Co. and Plum Flower Brand.
Facial Rejuvenation
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (FRA) is a virtually painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process. Although FRA is sometimes referred to as an “acupuncture facelift,” it is more than a cosmetic procedure. It is a rejuvenation and revitalization process designed to help the whole body look and feel younger. The FRA treatment is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into particular areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, trunk, legs and feet along meridians or channels of energy called Qi (pronounced “chee”). Practitioners of FRA know how to specifically affect the face while simultaneously treating the underlying factors that contribute to the aging process. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture may erase as many as five to fifteen years from the face, with results apparent after just a few treatments:
-fine lines may be entirely eliminated, and deeper wrinkles diminished
-bags under the eyes can be reduced
-jowls firmed
-puffiness eliminated
-droopy eyelids lifted
-double chin minimized
-cheekbones enhanced
-a reduction of stress evident in the face
-increased collagen production, muscle tone, and dermal contraction
Anyone concerned with looking and feeling younger and slowing down the aging process can benefit from FRA. Treatments are designed specifically for each individual, according to their skin care needs.
