Angelique Tourbier

Born and raised in South Africa, Angelique Tourbier has always been passionate about the outdoors, fitness and healthy living. From a very young age, she gravitated towards dance, movement, singing and performance.  And so it is not surprising that her journey brought her full circle a little later in life.
Before Pilates and Yoga, Angy received her Masters in Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University and worked as a brand manager for Barbie and Hot Wheels.  In 2004, after years of chronic back pain she turned to Pilates for help.  So convinced of this method she immediately delved into the rigorous 800-hour teaching training through Pilates Institute of Southern California. Dedicating her time to changing the way people feel about their bodies, minds and health is central to her teaching.  Angy dynamically combines classical and contemporary pilates to enhance and benefit all levels of clients helping them reach their goals.
Always eager to learn and expand upon her knowledge, Angy completed her certifcations in CrossFit and Olympic Lifting in 2011; and after 10 years as a dedicated yogi, she completed her 200 hour-RYT teacher training with an emphasis on Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga in Los Angeles.  For Angy, Yoga has always been a way of life, a holistic approach to living. Through her practice she is constantly exploring the process of consciously connecting breath-body-mind while exploring the possibilities of strength, flexibility and balance; and continuously transfers this into both her Yoga and Pilates instruction. In her classes, Angy’s effervescent energy and warm approach is beautifully woven into her love for movement, inspirational music and the mind-body connection. A recent transplant from Los Angeles, Angy is grateful to work closely with her mentor Jill Knouse.  While she has practiced and taught movement for most of her life, she is humbled by her teachers and graciously accepts the role as student forever.
