Amarylis is a yogini and a mother. Of the many adventures she’s had in her life (from living in South Korea, traveling through Peru and Spain, teaching ballroom dance, and serving as an AmeriCorps member) the biggest, by far, has been the journey into motherhood. She shifted away from a career directing non-profits and AmeriCorps programs and dove into motherhood a little less than gracefully.
She believes the transition into motherhood is a wild and wondrous ride that can be aided by yoga postures, breath work, meditation, Ayurveda, and our tiny guru(s)! She’s on a path to help women from pregnancy through motherhood bring vibrancy into their lives amidst the beautiful chaos children can bring.
Amarylis spent a transformative month living at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Massachusetts getting her 200 hour yoga teacher certification, and she received her 85 hour pre/postnatal certificate through the Bhaktishop in Portland, OR. She’s also currently working on a certification in Ayurveda to incorporate this ancient wisdom for pregnant and new mothers.
In addition to teaching yoga, Amarylis is Director of the Alma Education & Movement Space which serves mamas and families across Portland.
She’s learned a great deal, but still has so much more to learn and all the women she encounters inspire and teach her. To learn more about Amarylis you can visit her website: www.yoginihood.com ~ Mamaste!
